My baby boy in heaven
This blog post is about my first born son Dean Scott La Combe. The image below is not the real him because I was never able to get any pictures of him.
Welcome to my personal blog and healing sanctuary. If you are carrying the weight of childhood abuse or adult abuse, please know that you are not alone and that true recovery is possible. Through these personal writings, I share honest reflections from my path toward reclaiming my voice, peace, and self-worth. Take a gentle breath, explore these stories, and leave a comment to connect or share your thoughts along the way.

For many years, surviving felt like carrying a quiet burden that no one else could see. In this opening post, I introduce myself, my background, and what finally sparked the courage to step out from behind the shame of past abuse. Reclaiming my voice has been the most liberating decision of my life, and I share this starting point so that you know there is always light waiting ahead. I would love to hear your thoughts, so please feel free to leave a comment below.

Healing from trauma in adulthood requires learning to recognize unhealthy dynamics and realizing that you deserve safety, respect, and unconditional love. Here, I write candidly about untangling fear, setting firm boundaries, and stepping into the unknown to protect my spirit. If you have ever felt trapped or unsure of your next steps, know that support is out there and hope is real. Read my story, share your own experiences, and leave a comment to join the conversation.

Recovery is rarely a straight line; it is made up of quiet mornings, gentle affirmations, and learning to give grace to the person you are becoming. In this personal reflection, I share the daily practices, self-compassion tools, and mindset shifts that keep me grounded when old memories surface. You have the power to rebuild your life on your own terms. After reading, please leave a comment with what helps you stay grounded on your healing journey.

My name is Julie. I am 46 years old. I have CPTSD, depression, anxiety, and other medical health issues. My abuse started when I was 4 years old and continued until I was 16 years old by the woman who raised me. I say the woman who raised not because I refuse to call her my mother, but because I recently did a DNA thing through heritage.com and learned that I do not have any heritage linking me to her. Though my dad insists that she is my biological mom the DNA does not lie. So, after so many years asking myself why my own mom would have strangers come into my room at night to SA me so, she could get paid now I am asking WHO AM I REALLY.
